Building Block for Success

For a building to be stable for the long term, it needs a solid foundation.  The same is true in life, and the building blocks for a solid life are a strong education, financial stability and good health.

What does it mean to Live United?   It starts with recognizing that we're all in this together.  And then acting on that knowledge.  As a community-impact agent, UWYC identifies unmet needs and address them by funding programs and networking with our agencies  to bring the most positive impact to the greatest number of people throughout our communities.

United Way of Yavapai County

How We Impact Communities

United Way's role is to recruit people and organizations in communities who bring passion, expertise and resources to get things done.  Solutions are cultivated from within communities, building on their experiences and passions, while also having the ability to draw on effective solutions from 1,800 communities and to take good ideas to scale in any one of the 41 countries and territories.  It takes all of us - people, government, business and nonprofits working in partnership to tackle social change.

United Way of Yavapai County works to advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all by focusing on the three building blocks for a good quality of life - education, income and health.  We are recruiting people and organizations who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done and we need you to  join us.  You can give,  you can advocate and you can volunteer.  When we work together in common purpose, we LIVE UNITED.

Our Mission

"Unite people, organizations and resources to improve lives and build strong communities throughout Yavapai County."

The United Way of Yavapai County (UWYC) is a dynamic, community building organization serving individuals and families who live in beautiful Yavapai County.  We are a collaborative agency driven by people dedicated to our mission!
United Way envisions communities where everyone has the opportunity for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and resources available for sustained good health.  By mobilizing the caring power of communities to advance the common good, we can achieve these goals.
As a community-impact agent UWYC strives to identify unmet needs and address them by funding programs and networking with experienced agencies.  Your donation is considered an "investment" in our community and it is our goal to maximize the return on every investment!  This is best accomplished through outcome-based funding. Once community needs are identified we partner with local agencies and target funding toward programs that are based in prevention with a focus on creating solutions.  We invest in programs considered to be the building blocks of healthy communities.
